Two early 13th century leaf fragments, taken from what appears to be the Martyrologium Hieronymianum (a list of Christian martyrs in calendar order), notably with the mention of Saint Stephen several times, written in Latin, and in an early gothic textura script. There are several red initials.
These fragments were once used as binder’s waste, saved from a bookbinding, likely as a pastedown.
These manuscript fragments is written in a 28-line format.
One manuscript on parchment, 35 x 8; 37.3 x 8 cm
This manuscript is in fair shape, with some rubbing, wear and staining to the parchment. There are old residue marks where the fragment was likely pasted.
