Title: Two Leaf Bifolio from A Latin Missal, Germany, 14th Century. Manuscript on Parchment. 22 Lines of Gothic Script and Musical Notation. Recovered from a Binding
Condition: Very Good
A 14th century two leaf bifolio from a manuscript Latin Missal, produced in Germany. The text is written in Latin, and is a Gothic script written in black ink, bearing large two-line initials in red, as well as lines of musical notation.
This bifolio was once used as binder’s waste, having been used as a cover to a 17th century text.
This manuscript is written in a double column, 27-line format.
Two leaves on parchment, 31.8 x24; 31.4 x 21.1 cm
These leaves are in very good shape, with some wear and old staining to the parchment. There are two small holes, obscuring several words. Some of the text to the outside of the bifolio is faded, though still largely legible.
