A 14th century two leaf bifolio from a manuscript Latin Missal, produced in Germany. The text is written in Latin, and is a Gothic script written in black ink, bearing large two-line initials in red, two-line initials in red and black, and lines of musical notation.
This bifolio was once used as binder’s waste, having been used as a cover to a 17th century text.
This leaves written in a double column 20-line format.
Two leaves on parchment, 24.5 x 33.6; 22.3 x 33.8 cm
These leaves are in very good shape, with some wear and old staining to the parchment. The second leaf of the bifolio has been slightly trimmed, with a bit of text loss.
