Title: Tribunal Christi, seu, Arcanum ac singulare cujusvis hominis in morte judicium, 1635
Author: Jeremias Drexel
Publisher: Col. Agrippinae, Sumptibus Bernardi Gualtheri et Sociorum
An early 17th century edition of Drexel’s Judgment at the Seat of Christ, that is, the Judgment of the Death of every Man is in Secret, and Extraordinary.
There are two full page engravings present, along with the engraved frontispiece.
This volume bears the bookplate and provenance of Cardinal Louis-Ernest Dubois, who was also Archbishop of Paris in the early 20th century. It was Dubois who played a leading role in the period of adjustment to the separation of Church and State in France.
One volume in 24mo, 382 pages
On note of condition, this volume is in good shape, with rubbing and wear to the boards and splitting to the head and foot of the front joints. There is minor worming at the topright margins, and very light worming which bores into the front cover and into several pages, though not with any loss of text.
