A scarce late 16th century edition of the Sermons of Maister Henry Smith. Additionally bound is his Twelve Sermons Preached, with his Four Sermons, and Two Sermons, the last two with their own divisional title pages. There are some several scattered inscriptions throughout. A sammelband of sermons, all by the same author.
Henry Smith was known as a "silver-tongued" Puritan preacher, featured prominently in Elizabethan London. As his health began to fail, he spent much of his remaining years preparing his sermons for publication.

The first text is lacking the first 44 pages, including the title. The last two leaves are lacking at the end of Two Sermons.

This volume is in fair shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, with some leather lacking and cracking to the spine. The text block is cracked, though holding. There is some marginal water-staining near the end. The last leaf is torn and soiled. Small portions of the margins to page 97 in Twelve sermons are lacking, without text loss. There is some foxing and soiling throughout.
