A late 18th century, second edition of James Fittler’s famous Cabinet Bible, first printed in 1795 in folio, and reprinted here in small quarto format. Containing both the Old and New Testaments, there are over 30 beautiful plates, including two for the main titles of the Old and New Testaments, two beautiful full-page frontispieces, and the rest being various secondary titles with engraved headers for major books of the Bible. These have all been produced after the styles of Old Masters such as Albrecht Durer, Rembrandt van Rijin, Nicolas Poussin, and others.
This volume most recently belonged to the library collection of Mulberry House, a former rectory of High Ongar church.

This volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, largely to the spine. There is minor foxing and soiling throughout.
