An early 19th century edition of The Holy Bible Containing the Old Testament and The New, Translated Out of The Original Tongues: and with the former Translations diligently Compared and Revised by his Majesties Special Command.
There is a rather long contemporary inscription, being a lovely gift note from Lucy Hall’s grandmother, Lucy R(?). Lucy’s named has also been finely stamped in gilt into the inner flap, making this Bible clearly personalized.
This volume most recently belonged to the library collection of Mulberry House, a former rectory of High Ongar church.
This volume has been finely bound in a contemporary red leather, which is in a wallet style, serving as additional protection.

This volume is in very good shape with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, heavier to the hinges. There is very little foxing or soiling throughout.
