An early 18th century edition of John Baskett’s Holy Bible, containing the Old Testament and the New, newly translated out of the original tongues, and with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by His Majeties special command, appointed to be read in churches.
This appears to only be the first of two volumes, containing only the Old Testament from Genesis to Malachai, being the entirety of the Old Testament. The volume has been ruled in red by a contemporary hand throughout.
There is an ex libris stamp for the Baptist College in Bristol to the title page.
This volume most recently belonged to the library collection of Mulberry House, a former rectory of High Ongar church.
The volume has been bound in red morocco leather, finely gilt tooled.

This volume is in good shape, with rubbing and wear to the binding, and splitting to the hinges. There is very little foxing or wear throughout.
