A mid 18th century Baskett edition of The Holy Bible Containing the Old Testament and The New, Newly Translated Out of The Original Tongues, and with the former Translations diligently Compared and Revised by his Majesties Special Command.
This represents Thomas Baskett’s first Bible in folio format that he printed, being published in Great Britain during the last full year of the Julian Calendar, right before the Gregorian Calendar was adopted on September 14, 1752.
This volume most recently belonged to the library collection of Mulberry House, a former rectory of High Ongar church.

This volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, and the lower hinges starting to split. There is minor leather loss to the head and foot of the spine. One page is a little loose with the edges frayed. The last few index leaves are creased. There is minor foxing and staining throughout.
