Condition: Very Good
A Late Edo Period, 19th century silk ukiyo-e painting of a beautiful courtesan or geisha of Edo Period Japan, wearing a heavily detailed kimono, and with Kanzashi decorating her hair.
There is an inscription and artist seal, both of which I cannot identify.
The painting has been neatly mounted onto a brocade decorated kakejiku (hanging scroll), with jikusaki (knobs) made of wood.
One silk painting mounted on a kakejiku (hanging scroll), 156.5 x 50 cm full size, 66.5 x 41 cm main painting
This painting is in very good shape, with very light ink staining and wear to the painting, and a bit of discoloration to the left side margin. A bit of the outer scroll cover has worn away.
