Title: Testamenti Novi Editio Vulgate, 1547(?). Illustrated Pocket Edition of the New Testament, With Woodcuts by Jacques Le Fevre
Author: Catholic Church; Jacques Le Fevre
Publisher: Lugduni, Apud Seb Gryphium
Condition: Very Good
A mid 16 century pocket edition of the New Testament, divided into two parts. The volume has over 100 woodcuts throughout, and are famed for their influence on Bernard Salomon, and his Bible woodcuts.
Though the title page is lacking, comparisons to numerous digital scans and collations would indicate the 1547 edition is the most likely match, as other mid 16th century imprints vary very slightly in the placement of text, woodcut decorations per page, and other, miniscule details.
One finely bound volume in 12mo, 476 of 478+333+(18) pages
This volume is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, heavier to the hinges. There is minor foxing and scattered staining throughout.
