Title: Stimuli virtutum adolescentiae Christiane dicati, libri tres, 1594
Author: Guilielmus Baldesanus
Publisher: Coloniae, Sumptibus Arnoldi Mylij
A late 16th century first edition of Italian Jesuit Baldesanus’ Stimuli virtutum adolescentiae Christiane dicati, in three books.
This volume appears to be present in an imitation of a pigskin binding over wooden boards. While there are roll stamped border icons and designs commonly seen in pigskin bindings, they uniquely seem to be embossed papers wrapped over the book.
One volume in 34mo, (48)+642+(6) pages
On note of condition, this volume is in fair shape, with heavy rubbing and wear to the binding. The publisher information of the title page has been torn away. There is sparse foxing throughout.
