This volume has been illustrated by several different woodblock artists, including the renowned Keisai Eisen, Seizai Eiichi, and others. Some of the volumes are profusely illustrated, with color examples, while others, only bear a woodblock print illustration or two.
To the beginning of the first volume, it states the date of publication as “In the month of Kisaragi in the year of the Monkey in Tenpo”, which would be roughly 1836. So, it would be assumed that this is the initial publication date, with the volumes being published in following years.
