A largely complete, and impressive Early Meiji Period set of Yoshitoshi’s Seichū Hishi Meimei Gaden, or Pictorial Biographies of the Loyal Retainers, being his series of ukiyo-e prints depicting the 47 Ronin, often depicted in Chūshingura, the fictionalized accounts of the historical incident relating to the Ronin and their mission to avenge the death of their master, Asano Naganori.
The only print that is lacking, is the initial preface. All of the Ronin, and the bonus prints depicting Asano Naganori and Kira Yoshinaka, are present, though they have been numbered by pencil incorrectly.
Each print has been signed Ikkaisai Yoshitoshi hitsu, with a paulownia seal present to most of the prints.

All the prints have been laid onto sheets of paper for additional preservation, or possibly for framing/hanging purposes, which a prior owner crudely did at one point

These prints are in fair shape, with wear and staining to each of the prints. There is a small corner tear to one print, and two with corner lackings, though the main illustrations remain largely unaffected.
