An early 18th century account of The Council of Trent, originally held between 1545 and 1563 in Trent. It was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church. Prompted by the Protestant Reformation, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation.
There are three full page engravings of Popes Paul III, Julius III and Pius IV. There is an engraved title page.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with wear and rubbing to the boards. There is little to no foxing or staining throughout.
