A late 15th century edition of de Odendorff’s Repetitio Capituli, a treatise which deals with the obligation to confess for Christians of both sexes from the age of awareness of injustice, which was decided at the 4th Lateran Council in 1215. Of Odendorff, he completed his studies of liberal arts in Paris before coming to Vienna in 1383, where he was elected rector of the university there in 1485 as the first graduate in law. There are four painted initials, one featuring a face.
Leaves b3-b6 are lacking. Unusually, leaves b1-2 and b7-b8 have been bound in duplicate.
One volume in octavo, 16+112 of 116 leaves
This volume is in fair shape, with rubbing and wear to the binding, and the rear hinge partially cracked and split. There is damp staining throughout, with signs of mold spores. There is some worming throughout, mostly to the outer gutters, with some letter loss to the printed marginalia, and heavier to the last two leaves.
