An extremely scarce late 19th century set of works containing the biography and life of Ferdowsi, 10th century Persian poet and author of the Shahnameh, or Book of King. Celebrated as one of the most influential figures of Persian literature, Ferdowsi is also viewed as one of the greatest in the history of literature. Additionally, are a selection of poetical odes taken from Divan of Hafez, a collection of poems from the titular 14th century Persian poet, whose collected works are regarded by many Iranians as a pinnacle of Persian literature
