A late 17th century edition of Pericles, Prince of Tyre, a Jacobean play, being extracted from the fourth folio edition of William Shakespeare’s Complete Plays, being the largest of all the folio editions, and the most correct typographically. Also included is the play immediately following, The London Prodigal. Traditionally, there are 38 plays by Shakespeare, but this edition featured 7 additional plays, including Pericles Prince of Tyre, The London Prodigal, The History of Thomas Lord Cromwel, Sir John Oldcastle Lord Cobham, The Puritan Widow, A Yorkshire Tragedy, and The Tragedy of Locrine, all bearing various attributions or being contributive efforts.

This volume has been beautifully bound in half tooled morocco leather and cloth, housed in a box.

Two plays finely bound in one folio volume, pages 193-226, with blanks bound in at the end.

This volume is in very good shape, with minimal rubbing and wear to the binding. There is a bit of light restoration to the margins of the first leaf. There is some foxing and staining throughout.
