A late 18th century edition of Mably’s Observations of the Romans, originally published in 1751.
Of Mably himself, he was a notable French philosopher, historian, and writer, serving in the diplomatic corps for a brief period as well. He was a fairly prolific author, and popular during the 18th century.
The boards have been uniquely bound in what appears to be a handwritten itinerary.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with light wear and rubbing at the corners, as well as the head and foot of spine. There is minor foxing and staining throughout.
