An early 16th century first Aldine edition of the first collected Aldine edition of the prose works of Giovanni Gioviano Pontano, printed by the heirs of Aldo Manuzio and Andrea Torresano between June 1518 and September 1519. This is only the second volume of two, containing De Aspiratione libri duo, Antonius dialogu, and other prose texts.
The oft lacking mythological and satirical Charon Dialogues are, unsurprisingly, missing from this copy, which was commonly censored.
One vellum bound volume in quarto, 299 of 318 leaves
This volume is in very good shape, with minimal rubbing and wear to the binding. There is minor staining and soiling throughout.
