An extremely scarce late 16th century Lyon edition of Ovid's Metamorphoses, broken down into 15 books, comprising of over 250 myths taken from Greek Mythology.
This volume has been bound in blind tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with intricate designs and roll stamped border icons.
This volume bears the stamp of the dissolved monastery library Franziskaner Kloster Dettelbach. There is an ownership inscription to the title page dated 1691.
