Title: Manuscript Vulgate Bible Leaf with A Remnant of an Illuminated Initial, Circa 1250. Paris Atelier. From the End of Genesis and Beginning of Exodus
Condition: Good

A mid 13th century leaf from a Latin Vulgate Bible produced by a Parisian Atelier. This leaf is written on vellum in black ink, with an early Gothic script in two columns from both the front and back side. There is the remnant of an illuminated initial, which was cut out and excised.

This manuscript bears the provenance of Marvin L. Colker, later sold in the London collection at Christies.

This manuscript is written in a 58-line format.

One manuscript on parchment, 22.7 x 13.8 cm

This manuscript is in good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the vellum. With the excision of the illuminated initial, several lines of text are lacking.
