Title: Life of the Right Honorable William Pitt, 1861-1862. First Edition
Author: Philip Stanhope, 5th Earl Stanhope
Publisher: John Murray, London
Condition: Fair
A first edition of Earl Stanhope’s biography on the life of William Pitt the Younger, the youngest prime minister of Great Britain’s history, and historically one of the nation’s most popular by public opinion. While it does provide a glowing impression of Pitt, this work also highlights his failings and mistakes as prime minister, and as an individual.
