An extremely scarce early 19th century edition of Supposed Perfidies or Forgivable Slanders, an almanac dating from 1799 to 1800. This work bears 12 full-page engravings, and two folding calendars.
This volume has been bound in a beautifully hand painted and gilt decorated binding, with red florests and white palm fronds. To the center of the covers are two paintings, one displaying two hearts of love atop a cloud, and to the rear, a Cupid cocking his bow. There are gilt endpapers.
