A late 16th century, and first Giunta edition of Ovid's Metamorphoses reduced by Gio Andrea dell'Anguillara in Ottava rima: with the annotations of M. Giuseppe Horologgi, and the arguments, and notes by M. Francesco Turchi. This particular edition has been beautifully illustrated with 15 large plates at the start of each canto.
The first four original numbered pages are lacking and have been supplemented with an early hand.

This volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding. The title page has some old restorations, as well as restoration work to the lower right corner of the second leaf, and restoration to page 3 of the text. There is a very small wormhole to page 163, with several letters of text lost. There is old restoration work to pages 175 to 186 with tape and paper, and another restoration to another leaf. There is some foxing and staining throughout.
