A Late Edo to Early Meiji Period, 19th century manuscript sketchbook of various plants, ceramic designs, and birds, mostly being herons, and all being relatively small illustrations. There is one beautifully rendered full-page illustration of a Bonsai plant, with all these illustrations done in pen and ink.

One manuscript in folio (28 x 19.5 cm), 27 pages of pen and ink illustrations

This manuscript is in very good shape, with minor wear and rubbing to the paper. There is light staining to the outer margin, only very lightly touching the odd illustration.
