An early 16th century, first Gregori counterfeit edition of the second volume of Pontano’s complete Works. This Venetian counterfeit is a copy of the Aldine edition of 1518, except for the absence of the Aldine devices, and retains the same misnumbering of leaves and typographical errors. The dedicatory epistle by Francesco Torresano is addressed to Antonio Mocenico.
One vellum bound volume in 12mo, 170+(2) leaves
This volume is in good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, and some vellum lacking to the spine, with old, printed waste present. There is some dampstaining throughout, mostly to the margins.
