A Meiji Period, late 19th century manuscript sketchbook, dubbed Ikebana Gajo, or the Flower Arrangement Picture Book.
As the title would entail, this is a rather unfinished sketch book with many pages blank, but there are five pages of hand colored and rather detailed floral arrangements many within bamboo shoots carefully cut and presented.
One manuscript in folio, 7 leaves
This manuscript is in very good shape, with some soiling wear and wear to the covers. There is little to no foxing or staining throughout.
