A scarce early 16th century edition of Homer’s poetic epic, the Iliad, being the first Cologne edition, the second printed edition in Germany (first edition in Leipzig in 1512), and the sixth Latin translated edition by Lorenzo Valla.
The title page is bordered with a beautiful woodcut depicting the Adoration of the Magi, and there are numerous woodcut initials throughout, the first of which is extravagant and large in size.

This volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, with slight cracking to the front hinge. There is slight staining to the lower corner of the last leaves, and scattered spotting throughout.
