A late 18th century historical biography of the Marshal Turenne, who was a French military commander, Marshal General of France and the most illustrious member of the La Tour d'Auvergne family in the 17th century. His illustration military career over a five-decade career earned him a reputation as a legendary commander and was later known as the greatest modern commander by Napoleon Bonaparte himself, as well as various contemporary historians. Tragically, he was killed by an Imperial cannonball at the battle of Salzbach in 1675.
