The first separate Aldine edition of Herodianus’ Roman History, being the second part of two, containing the Latin translation of Poliziano, and lacking the first section being the original Greek. This was previously included in the Aldine folio edition of Xenophon in 1503.

Herodianus’ Roman History covers the period from the death of Marcus Aurelius in 180 to the beginning of the reign of Gordianus III in 238 AD.

One vellum bound volume in octavo, 97+(1) leaves

This volume is in very good shape, with minimal rubbing and wear to the binding. There is a small hole to the title page which has been patched over. There is minor spotting and scattered staining throughout.
