A charming early 19th century German manuscript entitled the Prayer Book for Catholic Christians, Now Collected from our Prayer Book, or Gebetbuch fur Katholische Christen. Aus unserem Gebetbuch nun gesammelt, dated 1818.
The text is written in a flowing hand, using black ink, with hand-drawn borders, and elaborate headers.
The previous owner and writer comes from the Central Baden region. The binding on both covers has a monogram of AF, dated "1818". At the end are notes from the mid to late 19th century relating to the births of family members, the last inscription dated 1872.
One manuscript in octavo, (4)+300+(3) pages
This volume is in very good shape, with light rubbing and wear to the binding. There is very little foxing or staining throughout, with staining to several pages.
