A scarce 17th century edition of Torrentinus’s Elucidarius, and the first publication of such in the Italian translation of Oratio Toscanella, reformed, enlarged and divided into two parts by Girolamo Brusoni. In which are contained Histories, Fables, Islands, Regions, Cities, Rivers, Mountains & other things necessary for all students of Poetry, and beautiful Letters. This work is organized alphabetically.
With this work, Torrentinus compiled an excellent reference tool for geographical, personal, and mythological names, as well as basic Arabic, Hebrew and Greek terms of expression in law, natural history, and more.
The inscribed title can be seen on the spine, and there are several ex libris inscriptions to the first blank.

On note of condition, this volume is in good shape, with rubbing and wear to the binding, with staining to the upper portions of the covers, and a small hole to the front cover. There is worming to the lower margins from pages 167-272, with several letters partially obscured. There is some foxing throughout.
