A late 19th century Meiji Era edition of an Illustrated Popular History of the Three Kingdoms, based off Luo Guanzhong’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms, centered around the warring states of Cao Wei, Shu Han, and Eastern Wu, and the legendary lords and retainers that battled for each state. This is only one of the parts of the entire series.
There are 14, 6, 10, 6, 8, 6 pages of woodblock illustrations.
Six volumes in quarto, 34, 26, 33, 33, 29, 25 leaves
These volumes are in good to fair shape, with some rubbing and wear to the bindings, the covers coming loose to volumes 3 and 4. There are portions lacking to the rear of volumes 5 and 9. There is some scattered staining throughout, heavier to volumes 5 and 9.
