A mid 18th century edition of the Course of Surgical Operations, demonstrated at the Jardin-Royal by Pierre Dionis, first surgeon to the late Mesdames les Dauphine, and sworn surgeon in Paris. This is the fourth edition, with revisions and additional commentaries remarks, added by Parisian surgeon Georges de La Faye.
There are 14 full page engravings, and numerous in text illustrations, including that of anatomical figures, surgical tools and implements, and much more. There is also a large folding plate of the Royal Garden.
One finely bound volume in small quarto, XXXII+920+(11) pages and one large folding plate
This volume is in good shape, with rubbing and wear to the binding, with leather loss in a few places, and splitting to the ends of the front hinge. There is minor foxing and soiling throughout.
