A late 17th century edition of the Tales and Short Stories in Verse by Jean de la Fontaine, being his famous Fables.
This appears to be a more uncommon 1696 imprint different from the Brunel edition bearing the Romeyn de Hooghe engravings, being a more compact version without any engravings.
Two works bound into one vellum volume in 12mo, (4)+205+(2), (28)+204+(3) pages
This volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and old staining to the binding. There is very little foxing or staining throughout.
