An early 17th century edition of Scriverius’s Description of Batavia with its antiquities, as well as the origin and history of the Counts of Holland. Additionally bound is a historical description of the Dutch wars, from the beginning and the beginning of the strokes until the twelfth anniversary.
There are woodcut illustrations of Roman archeological finds and dozens of woodcut portraits with diverse, abundantly decorated Renaissance borders.
Two works bound into one vellum volume in 12mo, (16)+608, 213 pages
This volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, and the headband having come loose. There is some staining to the upper margins of the first part. There is toning throughout.
