A Meiji to Taisho Period, late 19th to early 20th century painting album, attributed to numerous artists of the periods, with names such as Yamazaki Kodo and Ishikawa Ryujo, bearing their seals and signatures.
Each painting is a beautiful, double paged example, produced in the Southern School ink wash style, primarily of detailed landscapes and various figures. The album opens with a large double paged example of calligraphy.
The paintings have been finely bound in album format, with decorated, gold brocade covers, with diamond patterns.
The album has been stored in a damaged slipcase.
A list by a later owner has been enclosed, detailing the titles of each piece, and their respective artist. The calligraphy is a bit difficult to discern.
One painting album in orihon format (24.1 x 18.2 cm), 26 leaves
This album is in very good shape, with minimal wear and rubbing to the covers. One leaf is slightly split. There is very little foxing or staining throughout.
