A large and complete contract of sale for an A. Deville, dated 1775, to the amount of 14000 French Francs, written in a flowing script.
Deville’s signature and looping doodle is seen several times throughout the contract.
Contracts such as these have been commonly disbound to their individual gatherings presented as such. With this contract, all gatherings are still bound together, with the paper covers having survived and still remaining bound as well.
One manuscript in folio, 73 handwritten parchment leaves
On note of condition, this manuscript is in good shape, with the paper covers being worn and torn at the edges, with parts of the spine lacking at the top, and staining on the front and back. There is general wear at the page edges throughout, with dog eared page edges present on several pages. There is minor foxing and staining throughout.
