A rather interesting set of 22 Mid to Late Edo Period, 18th century silk paintings, all produced in an early stile of ukiyo-e. The art styles certainly pre-date ukiyo-e art and ehon illustrations of the very Late Edo to Meiji Periods. None of the pieces are signed, but there are inscriptions in red ink to each one.
There are various depictions of individuals, landscapes, and everyday scenes, including 10 depictions in various roles, from Shinto priest, courtesans, producing calligraphy, meals, and more.

These paintings are in good shape, with some staining and wear to them, heavier to about three examples. Two paintings have some worm tracks. One painting is torn partially.
