A Meiji Period, late 19th century manuscript sketchbook entitled Zhou Meiji.
There is a lovely selection of fifteen beautifully painted floral gatherings, still lives, and more, all produced in ink wash techniques, and even the front cover sporting a skillfully rendered warrior’s helmet and Sakura branch.
One manuscript in oblong quarto (17.7 x 24.4 cm), 14 leaves
This manuscript is in very good shape, with minor wear and soiling throughout, soiling heavier to the lower margins. One of the cords is lacking.
