A massive collection of 119 shikishi format sheets, from the Late Edo to Meiji Period, or mid to late 19th century. A vast selection of manuscript waka poetry, the collection was assembled and produced by unknown calligraphers, and is all written in a fine calligraphic hand.
Each leave has been decorated with various designs, the majority illuminated with gold spray, and some painted with reeds and leaves.

These sheets are in very good shape, with minimal rubbing and wear to most of the sheets, and some heavier rubbing and wear to a few exceptions.
