A manuscript leaf from an early 15th century illuminated Book of Hours, produced in the Southern Netherlands.
The leaf in written in Latin, and in brown ink using a gothic script.
There are some one-line initials in blue and gold, with penwork in red and black, and two-line initials against blue and red backgrounds. There are illuminated borders sprouting from illuminated bars, containing colored and burnished gold flowers, fruits, and ivy leaves on black hairline sprays.
The present leaf, numbered folio 14, contain content from the Penitential Psalms (Psalm 130: De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine).
This manuscript is written in a 16-line format.
