An extremely scarce late 18th century edition of the Complacent Proteus, a miniature almanac with 12 full page engravings.
This volume has been beautifully bound in full green morroco, with beautiful flowering gilt designs to the binding. There is also a mirror to the front inner pastedown, and bellow of pink silk to the rear, possibly to place small favors or slips. And to top it all off, shining brocade papers.

This volume is in very good shape, with minor rubbing and wear to the binding, and the mirror cracked. The text block is slightly detached at the bottom of the text block but holding. There is minor, scattered soiling throughout.
