An Early to Mid Edo Period, 17th to 18th century emakimono handscroll, beautifully hand painted on silk, dubbed Kanō-ha Nihon Fūkeizu Makimono, or the Kano School Japanese Landscape Scroll.
As the name would indicate, this scroll, while unsigned, is unmistakably done in the style of the Kano School with its Southern School influences and is professionally produced to the extant that an artist of the Kano School having produced this seems rather likely.
There are several beautiful, naturistic scenes, of trees, flowers, various landscapes and more, as well as various animals including storks, and a few structures and figures, including that of a trio of nobles underneath a cherry blossom tree.
The paintings have been laid down and bound in a scroll for preservation, with a decorated cover, and there are jikusaki (knobs) made of lacquered wood.

This emakimono is in very good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the scroll cover. The beginning of the mounted paintinga has some crease marks, and there are some worm tracks at the beginning, mostly marginal, with a single, tiny wormhole continuing throughout. There is minor, scattered soiling and staining.
