Title: Leaf from A Latin Missal, Germany, Circa 1150-1200. Manuscript on Parchment. 28 Lines of Carolingian Script
Condition: Very Good

A mid to late 12th century leaf from a manuscript Latin Missal, produced during the second half of the 12th century, likely from Germany. The text is written in Latin, and is a Carolingian script written in black ink, bearing large initials and red rubrics, with lines of musical notation in brown ink. The neumes bear heavy similarity to several 12th century Cistercian manuscripts seen in the Schoyen Collection.

This leaf is written in a 28-line format.

One manuscript on parchment, 31.1 x 20.9 cm

This manuscript is in very good shape, with minor creasing and old browning to the leaf. The inner margins have several, old, small, tears.
