A mid 19th century biography on Saint Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris in the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions. Her feast day is kept on 3 January. When the Germanic king Childeric I besieged the city in 464, she acted as an intermediary between the city and its besiegers, collecting food and convincing Childeric to release his prisoners.
This edition is bound in a decorated and ornate cartonnage binding of the period, with green against golden gilt.

On note of condition, this volume is in very good shape, with little to no wear on the boards, and light peeling on the front cover. There is light foxing and staining throughout.
