A scarce and rare first edition of Thomas a Kempis’s Viatoris christiani pars altera, attributed to Jesuit priest Jacobus Merlo Horstius, in a lovely morocco red binding with ornate gilt tooling.
This edition is complete with 3 full page copperplate engravings. Present with the ex libris plate of artist Charles Matyn, and a page with handwriting.

On note of condition, this volume is in good shape, with some wear noted at the corners and joints, with a black stain on the back cover. There is very minor staining throughout the volume, and the gilt fore edge is still bright.
