Title: Varii historiae romanae scriptores, partim Graeci, partim Latini, in vnum velut corpus redacti, de rebus gestis ab urbe condita, vsque ad imperii Constantinopolin translati tempora, 1568
Author: Carlo Sigonio, Velleius Paterculus
Publisher: Genevae, excudebat Henricus Stephanus
A mid 16th century edtion of Sigonio's Varii historiae romanae scriptores, otherwise translated as the Various writers of Roman history, partly Greek, partly Latin, reduced into one body, as it were, of the affairs of the city founded, and transferred to the times of the empire of Constantinople. This is the first volume of four.
One volume in octavo, (102)+832+(62) pages
This volume is in poor shape, with heavy rubbing and wear to the binding, and peeling to the spine. The rear board is reinforced and crudely repaired with tape. There is worming to the upper and inner margin, initially not obscuring any letters, and then slowly progressing halfway through the volume. There is some foxing and staining throughout.
