Title: Two-Leaf Manuscript, December 28 1816
Condition: Very Good
A finely preserved French manuscript from the early 19th century, written in flowing script and bearing an ornate signature at the end. This document dates from the reign of Louis XVII, The Desired, as indicated by the monarch’s name at the beginning of the manuscript. Louis spent twenty-three years in exile: during the French Revolution and the First French Empire, and during the Hundred Days, only managing to spend a total of 10 years of a proper reign before dying. His was the final death on the throne, as the future kings and emperors of France found themselves deposed or forced to abdicate due to revolution or poorly managed wars.
The postage stamps can still be discerned on the front.
One manuscript in folio, two leaves
On note of condition, this manuscript is in very good shape, with minor foxing throughout, and fold marks on the back. There is hardly any wear present.
